What can we do to eliminate potential faults before they arise? With production on the other side of the world, everything has to be shipshape at home. These are the stages in the NCAB checking routine when preparing artwork jobs.

• Visual examination of artwork jobs using CAM program to identify holes, soldering mask openings etc.
• Identification of specific customer requirements, such as panel design, sight marks and surface treatment.
• Elimination of information that may lead to ambiguous information and inaccurate interpretations.
• Verification that clear indication is given as to whether the holes should be plated or unplated.
• Verification that information on contour markings (drawings, external contours) has been included.
• Verification that the manufacturer can meet tolerances for holes, contours and width of conductor.
• Verification that the drawings show location and type of panels and break tabs.

Artwork
When we receive the artwork and prepare for production, we also seek out areas for cost optimization. If we identify areas capable of improvement, we come back to you to show you how the cost of your PCB may be lowered. Improvements are often possible in, for example, use of panel space, surface finish, layer structure, choice of materials, protective masking and layout design.

Product development
During product development and CAD, we offer recommendations on choice of materials, layer structure and layout design. This is often done via meetings between your product development personnel and our technicians.
