Time for pre registration has run out (1/12 2008) and the first list of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHS) has been publicerats. This entails 15 substances of which none is included in PCBs. A more complete list shall be ready in the middle of 2009.  

HIC (Humidity Indicator Cards) that sometimes is delivered with the goods to indicate exposion to damp often entails Kobolt (II) Cloride (CAS# 7646-79-9), as an element which is to be found in the first edition of the SVHS list. NCAB investigates alternative with copper (II) Cloride (CAS# 7447-39-4) as an active element.
